That’s the word Lynx head coach Mike Zerr used to describe Bill Trevillyan’s effort in claiming the flight 1 singles championship at Friday’s Eastern South Dakota Conference Tournament.
The Lynx boy’s tennis team accomplished a pre-season goal at this year’s state tournament by placing 10th in the 21-team event played last week in Sioux Falls. The placing was the result of Brandon Valley claiming four consolation titles – two in singles and two in doubles.
CONGRATULATIONS: The Varsity Girls’ Tennis Team and their coaches completed their season this past weekend with a fifth-place finish at their state tournament in Rapid City. This is the highest finish ever for a BVHS girls’ tennis team. Junior Tanna Lehfeldt led the team with a third-place finish at Flight One Singles. Other place winners included: Annabelle Schultz (10) sixth-place, 2nd singles, Sydney Pelletier (11) sixth place, 3rd singles, Michaela Jerke (8) ninth place, 4th Marie Pelletier (8) tenth place, 5th singles; Kate Lundberg (12) seventh place, 6th singles; Lehfeldt/S. Pelletier fourth place, 1st doubles; Schultz/Lundberg seventh place, 2nd doubles, Jerke/M. Pelletier fifth place, 3rd doubles.
USTA SELECTS BRANDON TENNIS ASSOCIATION (S.D.) 2008 NATIONAL COMMUNITY TENNIS ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., January, 2009 – The USTA announced that the Brandon Tennis Association (S.D.) has been selected as the 2008 National Community Tennis Association of the Year. It will be honored before more than 600 community tennis leaders at the annual USTA Community Tennis Development Workshop held on February 14, 2009 at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
